Designer Comments:
This tactile icon was created to represent the distance button on the Horizon T101 Treadmill. The visual icon on the treadmill is a curvy line with circles at each end. Obviously that would be too much detail for a tactile icon but the idea is good. The mantra for this icon is, "here to there." The nub on one end is here, the nub on the other end is there and a line connects them.
I think this could apply to orientation labeling too.
