The shape is a container, like a bucket, that is half full. It is a trapezoidal shape, narrow at the bottom with angled sides.
This tactile icon is commonly used for a normal or medium load button on a washer or dryer.
This is one of three tactile icons created to represent washer and dryer settings - light, normal, and heavy. The shapes were created by Emma Echols, Graphic Design Student as part of an independent study (2016) at the Rochester Institute of Technology. They are modeled after common washing/drying icons. We started with square bases but move to angled, trapezoidal shapes. The square bases were too generic.
